The basic reason i'm Christian is because I am convinced that the Christian Faith is true.
I was raised up in a Buddhist religion, all these years being taught customs of Buddhism, but
it this religion did'nt seem true.....
It was'nt until the past few years that i found Jesus, and not just another religion.
Chrisitanity is not a religion, but more of a relationship.
Alot of people think that us christians have strict rules to live by.
Like NOT allowed to smoke, NOT allowed to drink.....all I could tell them is that they are wrong.
Sure...i drink....but i don't smoke (smoking is bad for your health).
Meeting christ is like meeting another friend.
God speaks to people. He guides us in our thoughts and feelings and the decisions we make.
All we have to do is just share our life with him. With this we all can gain stuff in our life
which i can't even explain.
I 'm not going to say anymore....i guess if you really want to know more...than you get more.
All these years on earth i've learn't one true fact of life.
That is: "If you really want something so much, then you'll get it eventually!"
Anyway....back to the church.
"Campsie Church : We are a Christian Evangelical church. That means we believe the Bible is not fables nor
just history, but is God's word to us. As a church, we want to live out in our lives what the
Bible teaches. It has been the pursuit of thousands of people since Jesus Christ was
crucified to follow Him and grow in his character and likeness."
Amidst all the hard times and troubles that we face in our every day life,
I believe that going to church can have a positive influence on us. It really isn't
the church or denomination that you attend, but rather the true belief should be
placed on the One that you believe in. If you are going to church because of the people,
then who are you worshiping?....... Yet still you don't have to go to church to be a true
christian.
Even some of the great philosophers said that you would be better off overall
if you believed in GOD. It's like a refuge house in the midst of a great war. We are all the
warriors and sometimes even the best of all soldiers must come back for supplies and
information in order to carry on. Even if it is for just a mere second, the power you
gain will be enough to move you on.
So what's the catch?
There is none. You just have to believe... a skill that we are
losing in our days of hardship. A little faith will go a long way.
"god scratches me RIGHT where it iches"
What makes Christianity different from all the other religions of the world?
Years ago that very question was discussed at a conference. Some of the participants argued
that Christianity is unique in teaching that God became man. But someone objected, saying
that other religions teach similar doctrines.
What about the resurrection? No, it was argued,
other faiths believe that the dead rise again. The discussion grew heated.
C.S Lewis, a strong defender of Christianity, came in late, sat down, and asked, "What's the
rumpus about?" When he learned that it was a debate about the uniqueness of Christianity, he immediately
commented, "Oh, that's easy. It's grace."
how right he was! The very heart of the gospel is the supreme truth that God accepts us with no conditions
what ever when we put our trust in the atoning sacrifice of His incarnate Son. Although we are
helplessly sinful, God in grace forgives us completely. It's by His infinite grace that we are saved, not
by moral character, works of righteousness, commandment-keeping, or church going.
When we do nothing else
but accept Gods total pardon, we recieve the guarantee of eternal life...... (Ti. 3:4-7)
Simple trust. This is one of the most difficult concepts to communicate to people....Here's a little story
which someone has written, "for 30 years I had assumed that to swim I must constantly struggle to keep from
sinking. One day an expert swimmer watched me for a few minutes and then shouted, 'Stop fighting the water and
trust it will hold you up.' He was right. Under his direction, I lay flat in the water with out moving my hands or
feet and, to my delight, it held me up. Why didn't someone tell me that years ago!"
The writer then concluded, "So many people constantly struggle to become christians. If they would only trust
Christ, they would realize that He does the saving."
